Questions renovators ask about the plan

27 straight answers about the price, the terms, your website and what we can and can’t promise.

The plan and the price

What does the plan cost?

A$249 a month and a one-off setup fee of A$499, on a 12-month minimum term. Prices are shown without GST; GST may apply. There is one plan and one price for every renovation business, with no tiers and no promotional pricing.

What does the monthly fee actually cover?

A website built for a kitchen or bathroom business: project pages grouped by room, a page for each service you sell, a how-a-job-runs page, one service area page, licence details on every page and a design consult form. Hosting, SSL and security updates are included, with up to 5 content edits a month and a monthly report of the enquiries the site received. Nothing in that list is billed separately later.

Why is there a 12-month minimum term?

It keeps the upfront cost to the A$499 setup fee. The monthly fee pays for building, hosting and looking after the site over time, and the minimum term is what makes that split work. After 12 months the plan runs month to month, and the terms say so plainly before you sign.

Can I cancel?

Yes. After the 12-month minimum term, give written notice before your next billing date and the plan runs out when the month already invoiced ends. During the minimum term you can still end it, but the monthly fees for the rest of the term remain payable, unless you are ending it because we seriously breached the terms and didn’t fix the problem within 14 days. The plan terms set this out in full.

What happens after the first 12 months?

The plan continues month to month at A$249 a month with the same inclusions. Either of us can end it with written notice. If the monthly fee ever changes, you get at least 30 days’ written notice first and can end the plan before the new fee starts.

When is the setup fee charged, and when does the monthly fee start?

The A$499 setup fee is invoiced when you sign up, because it pays for planning and building the site. The monthly fee starts from the month your site goes live, and so does the minimum term. Nothing monthly is charged while the site is being built.

Are there any other fees?

Not for what the plan includes. You pay your own domain registration to the registrar, in your business name. Work outside the plan, such as a new feature or a redesign, is quoted first, and nothing is charged unless you agree.

Do you offer discounts or a cheaper plan?

No. There is one plan at one price for every business, with no promotional pricing. Every renovator pays the same, and every renovator can read the whole offer before a call.

Getting started

How long does it take to get my site live?

Your site is live within 14 days of us receiving your content: business and licence details, photos, service areas and notes for each page. If something is missing, we tell you what straight away, and the 14 days start once it arrives.

Do I have to write the words for my site?

You supply the substance: what you do, how your jobs run, your projects and your prices if you show them. Rough notes, dot points or a voice memo are fine. We lay it out into pages and tidy the wording for you to check, but we never invent claims about your business.

What do you need from me during the build?

The content checklist: business and licence details, a logo if you have one, photos of finished work, notes on each service, the areas you work in and access to your domain settings. Most renovators already have most of it. After that, quick answers to any questions and one list of changes when you review the preview.

We don’t have professional photos. Can we still launch?

Yes. Good phone photos of finished rooms, taken in daylight with the room tidy, work well on project pages. We build the pages with what you have and you can swap in better photos later as edits. A handful of well-described projects does more than a large gallery with no words.

I have a site already. Does the work on it go to waste?

No. Anything on your current site that is yours to reuse, such as project photos and the descriptions you wrote, comes across into the new pages. Your domain is switched over once you have signed the new site off, so nobody sees a gap, and you close your old hosting whenever it suits you.

Your website

What counts as a content edit?

One change to an existing page, such as adding a finished project, changing prices, swapping photos, updating your service area or changing your hours. Up to 5 are included each month. New sections, new features and redesigns are outside the plan and quoted first.

Who owns my domain and content?

Your business does. Your domain is registered in your business name and you pay the registrar directly. Your words, photos, logo and prices stay yours. When the plan ends we give you a copy of the content you supplied and help you point the domain wherever you choose.

Can I show my licence number on the site?

Yes, and we recommend it. Your licensed name and licence number go in the footer of every page, with each licence and any insurances you want listed on the about page. Some states set rules for what a licensed contractor’s advertising must include, so check the rules where you work.

Can I show photos of clients’ homes?

Yes, when you took the photos or have permission to use them, and your clients have agreed. Your client comes first: we don’t publish anything that identifies their home, such as a house number or a street view, unless you tell us they have agreed.

Will there be a page for every suburb I work in?

No. You get one well-written service area page naming the regions you cover. Dozens of near-identical suburb pages are treated as doorway pages under Google’s spam policies, and buyers can tell when a page was copied.

Search, enquiries and results

Will the website get me more jobs?

We can’t promise that, and we don’t. The site is built to explain your work clearly, show finished rooms, prove you are licensed and make it easy to enquire, and we report the enquiries it receives every month. How many jobs follow depends on your market, your work, your reviews and how quickly you reply.

Will I rank on the first page of Google?

Nobody can honestly promise a ranking. We build each site on sound technical foundations, with a page for each service, real project pages and correct structured data. Rankings depend on competition, your reviews, your Google Business Profile and time.

Where do enquiries go?

To the email address you choose. Each enquiry from the consult form arrives with the room, suburb, timing and any photos the buyer attached, so your first reply can be specific. Every enquiry is counted in your monthly report.

Do you run Google Ads or social media ads?

No. Paid advertising and ad spend are not part of the plan. If you run ads yourself or with someone else, your site can be the page they link to.

Does the plan include my Google Business Profile?

The profile is yours to own and manage, and it isn’t part of the plan. We link your website and profile properly, and our blog has a practical guide to setting up the profile for a renovation business.

Working together

What happens on the first call?

We ask how you win work now, which jobs you want more of and where you work. We show you the sample designs and go through the plan and its terms. If it doesn’t suit your business, we say so. There is no charge and no obligation.

Do you work with renovators in every state?

Yes. The plan is for kitchen and bathroom renovation businesses anywhere in Australia. Everything is done by call, email and shared documents, so nothing needs you off site during the day.

Do you give renovation, building or licensing advice?

No. We are a website studio, not a builder or a licensing adviser. We show your licence details as you give them to us; what your advertising must include in your state is for you to confirm with your regulator.

Is the plan for homeowners?

No. The plan is sold only to businesses, for use in their business. The blog is written for renovation business owners rather than homeowners planning a renovation.

Still have a question?

Ask it on a call. The pricing page covers costs and terms in more detail, and the plan terms are the full agreement.
